Our Backflow Incense Cones can only be used with a backflow incense burner as the smoke comes out of the bottom of the cone to make a waterfall type effect.

Each Backflow Incense Cone has a burn time of 15-20 minutes. For instructions on how to use please see below. No charcoal required.

 

Our Topflow and Backflow incense cones are designed to create different type of smoke effects due to their unique designs.

Here are the important differences between the two:

1. Smoke direction:

Topflow Incense Cones – The smoke flows upwards from the tip of the cone. Like traditional incense cones the smoke rises naturally up into the air.

Backflow Incense Cones – These cones have a hole at the bottom running through the middle of the cone. The smoke is heavier so it flows downwards through the whole creating a waterfall effect flowing down.

 

2.Usage and Holders

Topflow Incense Cones – Can be used with any heat proof plate or incense cone holders which can catch the ash.

Backflow Incense Cones – Require a specially designed backflow holder with often an intricate path or design to show the flow of the smoke. These holders usually have a hole at the top to position the cone and to channel the smoke to travel.

 

3.Appearance

Topflow Incense Cones – The visual effect of the rising smoke can be elegant and calming to watch but less visually dynamic compared to back-flow.

Backflow Incense Cones – The downward flow of smoke creates a mesmerising waterfall effect making them popular for meditation, relaxation and aesthetic displays.

Incense Cones are one of the slowest forms of burning incense and because of this the scent can linger around the air and stick to surfaces for longer periods of time. Incense Cones are known for revitalising the mood, uplifting the mind and replacing lingering odours instantly. They differ from bakhoor as Incense Cones do not need a charcoal to burn. Simply light the tip of the cone until the flame has reached halfway down the cone and blow out. Please make sure you place the cone away from anything flammable when the flame is burning.

 

HOW TO USE:

Place on a heatproof surface, light end of the cone and burn until the flame reaches a quarter way down the cone; blowing the flame out and ember until red hot. Place in a well-ventilated area and allow the fragrant smoke to disperse
